Fraternal Order of Police, Sarpy County Lodge #3

Member Benefits

What membership in Lodge 3 actually gets you, from the Lodge itself and from the National Fraternal Order of Police.

What the Lodge Provides

Dues are 1.45% of base wage, taken by payroll deduction. This is what they buy, and most of it is not available to you any other way.

A Contract That Holds

Three collective bargaining agreements, negotiated by members who do the job, covering wages and steps, overtime, shift differential, leave, discipline, seniority and retiree health.

24/7 Legal Defense

Experienced attorneys for administrative, civil and criminal matters arising within the scope of your duties, and Lodge funds for a member’s defense, at no cost to the member.

$15,000 Life and AD&D

Term life and accidental death coverage for every member in good standing, with the premium paid in full by the Lodge.

Wills and Estate Planning

A will and basic estate planning prepared at no cost to you, included with the Lodge’s legal benefit. Members can find how to start on the Members Only page.

Identity Protection

Identity protection through MAGEN, at no cost to you. Members can find how to sign up on the Members Only page.

Scholarships

$1,000 to every qualifying child or stepchild of a member, for college, university, trade school or a registered apprenticeship. Applications post by February 1 and close March 15.

Sheriff’s Employee Sick Bank

Hours to draw on when your own sick and comp time runs out during a long illness or injury, open to eligible Sheriff’s Office employees.

Off-Duty Employment

The Lodge arranges off-duty work for commissioned members in good standing. The Second Vice-President runs the sign-ups and issues the rules for each period.

Representation

The Lodge is your exclusive bargaining representative and carries your grievance through the contract’s procedure.

Departure Gifts and Recognition

Members leaving in good standing after qualifying years of service are recognized by the Lodge.

Events and Brotherhood

Family events through the year, discounts through the National Lodge, recognition when a member retires, and people who show up when a member or a member’s family needs it.

National FOP Benefits

Membership in Lodge 3 makes you a member of the National Fraternal Order of Police, which runs its own discount and benefit programs. These are run by the National Lodge rather than by Lodge 3, so sign-up and eligibility are handled on their site.

Travel

Member rates on hotels and resorts. Free to join. Reached through the National FOP travel benefits page.

Travel Perks from Dream Vacations

Member savings on ocean and river cruises, land tours and resort stays.

Amazon Business

Products

A shared National FOP business account with business-only pricing and a First Responder storefront carrying law enforcement supplies, tactical gear and PPE. You submit a form, the National Lodge validates your membership, and then you are sent an invite. It is for agency and lodge purchasing and is not intended for personal orders.

Official FOP Store

Products

Apparel and accessories for active members, items for elected lodge officials, and customized lodge gear.

There are more categories on fop.net than the two above, and the National Lodge adds and retires partners without telling us, so treat their site as the current list.

How to Use Them

  • Already a member. The Members Only page has the contacts for estate planning and identity protection, along with the Board roster and the FOP attorney.
  • Not a member yet. Start at Join the Lodge. Most of what is on this page begins the day your application is processed.
  • Not sure whether something applies to you. Email info@sarpyfop.com or ask any Lodge officer.
